                            Dakota State Fair Speedway Wall of Fame
One of the newest attractions at Dakota State Fair Speedway is the "Wall of Fame". Located at the backside of the Grandstand, this historic landmark give the names of drivers who've won special race events as well as season championships dating back as far as 1914! This wall is sure to take you on a trip down memory lane... listing the names, car numbers, and divisions of drivers for the past 80+ years.
DSFS Track Promoter, Orville Chenoweth was the moving force behind this historic structure. His thoughts were to give the fans somthing to look at while waiting to enter the track. It gives them a chance to reminisce about past years at the State Fair Speedway. As always, Orville is striving to make racing the best value for your entertainment dollar. Features such as the Wall of Fame are just one of the many improvements made at Dakota State Fair Speedway.
Statistics were provided by Butch Knouse of Volga, SD. Butch is somewhat of a "hobby statistician" of South Dakota Race Tracks. Butch did the research and put together all the history of State Fair Speedway since the first green flag dropped back in 1914. The information was then given to Mark McDonald at First Class Design, who basically created the layout for the Wall of Fame. McDonald took the hundreds of names typed, cut out and displayed them for a perfect fit on to the Wall of Fame.
Chenoweth added "there are drivers who have devoted their whole time to racing and they may have the trophies to remember these times , but I thought it would be nice for those of us who watched them race to know and remember what they did also." WISSOTA Street Stock

The WISSOTA Street Stock Division is designed to allow people to get into racing with minimal costs.

Wissota Super Stocks

The Wissota Super Stock cars are a completely fabricated car that has the appearance of a stock car. The cars run on gasoline as opposed to alcohol. They have no rear spoiler. The Wissota Super Stock Division is a highly competitive division as the rules limit modifications to keep participants equal.

Wissota Modified

The Wissota Modified division cars are the open-wheel beauties! They are a fabricated car that produces around 500 horsepower. The Wissota Modifieds are methanol powered. Wissota Modifieds are a popular division amongst drivers and fans alike.

Wissota Late Models

The Wissota Late Models are built from the ground up - a completely fabricated car that runs state-of-the-art suspension. Wissota Late Models have a stock appearing look with a spoiler on the rear. They put out between 500 - 600 horsepower. These powerful machines are also methanol or ethanol powered.
